Radiography

A 16-hour course for developing skills in the art and science of evaluating radiographs. This course will cover radiographic inspection processing and all of the varying parameters that contribute to the final radiographic image quality.  Will provide information on the film interpreter's role and capability, paying particular attention to the practical interpretation of radiographs. This four-day –4 hour (16 hrs.) course provides basic knowledge into how to effectively interpret radiographs of weldments, castings, electronics, composite and other materials.  Emphasis is placed on the radiographic image quality requirements of codes and specifications.  This course is practical in nature, utilizes classroom participation, and allows for hands on application in the review of radiographic film.

This course will:

  • Discuss the attributes needed for acceptable radiographs

  • Explain various types of discontinuities in weldments, castings and other forms

  • Explain acceptance criteria from various codes and standards

  • Apply various acceptance criteria for weld acceptance

  • Hands-on viewing and evaluation of radiographs

This four-day (16 hrs.) course provides basic knowledge into how to effectively interpret radiographs. The practical session radiographs are concentrated towards the product technology of the participant.

Magnetic Particle Inspection

This course meets the training requirements of Aerospace Industries Association- National Aerospace Standards NAS 410, Certification & Qualification of Nondestructive Test Personnel: and complies with the training guidelines of American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Recommended Practice No SNT-TC-1A and Mil-Std-410E.  The course addresses the inspection and process of ASTM E1444 and incorporates the process control attributes of NADCAP (Performance Review Institute) checklist AC7114/2.  The course prepares students to perform magnetic particle inspections using visible and fluorescent particles.

ATTENDIES:  Will receive formal classroom training, hands-on inspection and be required to perform all process controls relative to aerospace requirements.  The class includes books, hand-outs, and quizzes/exams covering material.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Entry Level NDT Personnel, Inspectors, Supervisors and NDT Personnel requiring Refresher Training.

LEVEL 1: 16 hr (Operator)
LEVEL 2: 16 hr (Inspector)

Visual Inspection

This course content includes visual inspection procedures, relevant codes of practice, terms and definitions, welding processes and typical welding defects, weld measurements; typical documentation and requirements, practical inspection reporting.

Objectives:
